Rene Banks is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner and experienced nursing educator with more than two decades of clinical expertise spanning cardiovascular care, family medicine, and pain management. She currently serves as a Nurse Practitioner at Alabama Anesthesiology & Pain Consultants, where she brings a solutions-oriented, patient-centered approach to comprehensive pain care.
Rene began her nursing career in 2003 and has since served in a variety of clinical and academic roles. Prior to joining Alabama Anesthesiology & Pain Consultants, she provided advanced practice care at Legacy Pain and Spine, Appalachian Cardiovascular, and multiple family medicine clinics across Alabama. Her extensive background includes managing complex chronic conditions, developing individualized care plans, and providing holistic care for pediatric, adult, obstetric, and geriatric populations.
In addition to her clinical roles, Rene has made significant contributions to nursing education. As an adjunct faculty member at Jacksonville State University, she taught advanced practicum courses for Family Nurse Practitioner students, emphasizing diagnostic accuracy, evidence-based care models, and clinical decision-making. Her scholarly work, including the development and implementation of a Peripheral Artery Disease protocol, demonstrates her dedication to improving patient outcomes through research and education.
