Durable Medical Equipment

We offer durable medical equipment (DME) at Alabama Anesthesiology & Pain Consultants to help you recover more comfortably and regain function. Our team ensures that your DME is fitted properly and tailored to your condition, all during your office visit.

What Is Durable Medical Equipment?

DME includes devices designed to support healing, prevent further injury, or help with long-term pain or mobility concerns. For musculoskeletal issues, this may involve bracing for the back, knees, neck, or wrists.

Our DME is certified through PEDAC, which means it adheres to Medicare coding standards for coverage. We prescribe DME only when medically indicated and help determine your insurance benefits, although it’s still the patient’s responsibility to confirm exact coverage.

DME We Commonly Provide Includes:

  • Braces for the back, neck, or knees
  • Off-loading knee devices
  • Wrist supports

By offering DME in-house, we save you a trip to a separate supplier. We’ll also make sure your equipment fits well and explain how to use it as part of your care plan.

To receive DME, you need a diagnosis that supports the medical need and a prescription from a physician. If you haven’t been evaluated, schedule an appointment with our team. Most insurance plans cover DME, but we recommend checking with your provider for full details. Call or book online to get started with an evaluation or ask questions about your DME options.
